ACT II
THE AWAKENING, THE PSYCHOSIS, THE LIGHT
The story continues in an abandoned place, heavy with history:
Istituto Marchiondi, a decaying former psychiatric hospital.
The night is over.
The music has vanished.
The real world asserts itself again: slow, heavy, merciless.
Here, Martina and Giosuè, visibly worn, awaken in a setting
of abandonment and desolation, among peeling walls and
shattered glass.
Nature has begun reclaiming the space: weeds sprout through
cracks in the floor, vines hang from the beams.
The cold building mirrors their inner hell.
The asylum becomes a symbol of damnation.
Both seem like victims of a dream that has evaporated.
