PROCESS.

1. 01

   PIGMENT

   The t-shirt was covered in black pigment, a layer resting on the surface of the cotton, made to be worn away.

   

   

   

   
2. 02

   STONE

   Stone washing broke the pigment down into charcoal. It lifted first along the seams, the collar and the folds, the places where a shirt carries its age.
3. 03

   LIGHT

   The graphics were burned in by laser on the chest and the back. The light shifts the colour of the fibre itself, so the print reads like a watermark rather than something laid on top.

   

   

   
4. 04

   DESCENT

   The lower part of the shirt was taken back into black, rising from the hem and fading out toward the chest. No hard line: the dark simply climbs until it lets go.
